Mongo

Mongo, the Mayor of Snyder, was bottle nursed as a kitten by a young church member. As he grew, an event was held for pet adoption at Christ Church where Mongo was adopted by a church member who lives just a couple of blocks from Christ Church. His new family bestowed upon him the name “Mongo” from Mel Brooks cowboy satire Blazing Saddles. He makes his way through various parts of Snyder to check-in on the status of its residents to oversee local pest control. While he officially has a home, he can be found daily at Christ Church.



What’s your favorite thing about Christ Church Amherst?

Well, I have the run of things! Just about every room has some treats and I am welcomed by all groups and meetings.



What is your biggest pet peeve?

Don’t touch me in the wrong place or you will get swatted! Stick to the head and ears.



Where is your hometown?

Snyder, of course! I am it’s Mayor, after all…

Pest control, naps, and treats.
