Official Church-Wide Straw Poll on 2/20/2022

Official Church-Wide Final Vote on 3/6/2022

Christ Church is taking the final steps towards a vote on joining the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) and becoming a Reconciling Congregation. RMN is an organization seeking the inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in both the policy and practices of United Methodist Church. We will take an official church-wide straw poll on February 20, 2022, immediately following worship on whether or not our church is willing to adopt the following statement:

“We celebrate God’s gift of diversity and value the wholeness made possible in community equally shared and shepherded by all. We welcome and affirm people of every gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation, including all LGBTQIA persons, who are also of every age, race, ethnicity, physical and mental ability, level of education, and family structure, and of every economic, immigration, marital, and social status, and so much more. We acknowledge that we live in a world of profound social, economic, and political inequities. As followers of Jesus, we commit ourselves to the pursuit of justice and pledge to stand in solidarity with all who are marginalized and oppressed.”

If you are unable to vote on the straw poll in-person, there will be an online voting option as well.

We will take an official church-wide final vote on March 6, 2022, immediately following worship. If you are unable to vote in person, there will be an online voting option as well.

If you have questions, please reach out to Bradley Loliger at bradloliger@gmail.com, or speak to any of the members of our reconciling team: Peggy Bermudez, Sandy Cumming, Toni Neidel, Barb Mitchell, Karen Hoffmann, Carol Corsaro, or Julie Wrisley.
